Kashmir, Kerala and Goa are the three domestic trips every Gujarat family eventually takes — and the same destination can be a completely different holiday in a different month. Kashmir is at its classic best April to June and turns magical with snow in December and January, while Goa peaks November to February. Here's the honest season guide we give our own clients.
Kashmir — two seasons, two different trips
April to June is the classic Kashmir: tulips and blossoms in spring, Dal Lake shikaras, green meadows in Gulmarg and Pahalgam, and perfect 15–25°C weather while Gujarat swelters — this is the family season, and the busiest. December and January are the other Kashmir: deep snow, frozen lakes and the Gulmarg gondola over white slopes, genuinely cold and best for couples and snow-chasers rather than elderly travellers. September–October is a quieter gem in between — saffron harvest, autumn chinar colours, thinner crowds and softer prices, ideal if you've already seen the spring version.
Kerala — let the monsoon finish, then go
Kerala's sweet spot is September to March: the monsoon has fed the backwaters and tea hills to their greenest, the houseboat cruise in Alleppey is glassy and calm, and Munnar sits at a cool 10–20°C. December–January is peak, so book houseboats early, while September–October offers the same green at better prices. The monsoon itself, June to August, is actually loved by some — it's Ayurveda season, when treatments are considered most effective and resorts run their best rates — though daily sightseeing takes a back seat to the rain.

Goa — the winter party, and the quiet monsoon
November to February is the Goa everyone imagines: dry sunny days, calm seas for water sports, beach shacks in full swing, and Christmas–New Year at its crowded, expensive peak. March–May stays beach-friendly but heats up. The monsoon, June to September, transforms Goa into something else — empty green landscapes, waterfalls at full flow, and hotel prices at their lowest. For a budget couples' escape where you don't mind rain, monsoon Goa is a quietly brilliant trip.
The cheat sheet
If you can travel April–June, pick Kashmir for the spring bloom while Gujarat is at 40°C. September–October suits Kerala or autumn Kashmir for post-monsoon green at pre-peak prices. November–February is safe for Goa, or all three, since everything is in season — book early. December–January is perfect for two opposite trips: Kashmir for snow, Goa for parties. And June–August rewards Kerala's Ayurveda season or monsoon Goa with the lowest prices and lushest landscapes.
