Can foreigners apply for an India visa online?

Yes. Nationals of around 160+ countries can apply for an Indian visa entirely online through the e-Visa programme — no embassy visit and no interview. There are six categories: e-Tourist (30-day, 1-year and 5-year), e-Business (1 year), e-Medical and e-Medical Attendant (60 days), e-Conference (30 days) and e-Ayush for wellness treatment. Explera Vacations is an India visa specialist that completes the online form, uploads your documents to spec, pays the government fee and emails you the Electronic Travel Authorisation — usually within a few business days. For nationalities or purposes the e-Visa does not cover, we arrange a regular sticker visa through the Indian mission.

How it works

Your Indian visa, filed in four steps

1

Eligibility & category

We confirm your nationality qualifies for the e-Visa and pick the correct category (tourist, business, medical, conference or AYUSH) for your trip.

2

Application & upload

Explera completes the official online form and uploads your passport page and photo to specification, so it is not rejected for a formatting error.

3

Fee & submission

The government fee (which varies by nationality and duration) is paid and the application submitted — we confirm your all-inclusive total in writing first.

4

ETA delivered

Your Electronic Travel Authorisation arrives by email — usually within a few business days. Print it and carry it; the visa is stamped on arrival at a designated airport or seaport.

India visa FAQ

India e-Visa — your questions answered

Nationals of around 160+ countries are eligible for the India e-Visa across the tourist, business, medical, conference and AYUSH categories. If your nationality is not on the e-Visa list, a regular (sticker) visa is applied for through the Indian mission — Explera handles both routes and confirms which one fits your passport.
